Our services

Servfi is an online marketplace that connects customers in South Africa with independent, vetted trade professionals (such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners, gardeners, painters, and handymen). Customers browse providers, request a booking or quote, and arrange the service directly with the provider. Servfi is a technology facilitator and is not the supplier of the underlying trade services.

Pricing & payment terms

  • Browsing and booking on Servfi is free — customers only pay for the service itself.
  • Payment is taken only after the job is completed (or marked could-not-complete). No payment is taken upfront.
  • Servfi charges a 5% platform service fee, which is deducted from the provider's share via the payment split — customers pay the quoted amount, not an added fee.
  • Payments are processed by our licensed third-party payment provider. Servfi does not store your card or bank-account details and does not operate an escrow; where a provider sets up payouts, those bank details are submitted directly to the payment provider and are not retained by Servfi (only a non-sensitive reference is kept). Full payment terms are in our Terms of Service (section 4).

Your consumer rights

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and ECTA — including the electronic cooling-off period and its exceptions — are set out in section 4.6 of our Terms of Service.

Codes of conduct & regulatory bodies

Servfi is not currently a member of an industry self-regulatory or accreditation body, and does not subscribe to an external code of conduct. We operate in accordance with South African law, including the Companies Act, the Consumer Protection Act, ECTA, and POPIA.

Complaints & dispute resolution

Please raise any complaint with us first at support@servfi.co.za so we can help resolve it. You may also escalate to:

  • The National Consumer Commission or the relevant Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (consumer matters);
  • The Information Regulator (South Africa) for data-protection matters — see our Privacy Policy.
